Gina Aswell
Artistic Director/Choreographer
Gina began her studies with Hebert Dancentre and Lafayette Ballet Theatre, studying with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York for a year. She later acquired a BFA in Dance from UL. She has 16 years of experience teaching ballet in both MS and LA and has been a collaborator with Cathy Hebert on several works across Acadiana. She worked with the USA International Ballet Competition - the Olympics of Ballet - in 2006. Gina currently teaches at Basin Arts, Jill Listi Dance Studio, Hebert Dancentre, Dance Connection, Studio 84, and the Dance Pointe. She is the ballet master of Basin Arts Dance Collective, and her work was featured in the 2018 State of La Danse at ULL. She has been invited to the teacher training course at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in August 2019.
Paige Barnett
Choreographer
Paige is a dancer and video artist in Lafayette, LA. She is currently a Basin Dance Collective company member under the direction of Clare Cook. Barnett performed in THIRST by Whitney Willis Hebert and SURFACE by Basin Dance Collective, both at Acadiana Center for the Arts. In 2018, she directed and choreographed a visual arts and dance film, Delicate Things ( selected to be screened by NYC's NACHMO Film Project), as well as Periscope , a dance film which received an “Official Selection” for the 92Y Mobile Dance Film Fest sponsored by 92Y Harkness Theater in NYC. She has lately begun her career as a performance artist in the rework of Tina Girouard's “Mardi Gras Suites and Quartets” held at Acadiana Center for the Arts in April 2018. Most recently, Barnett exhibited a performance art and video installation as a solo artist at Basin Arts titled Woman in Bath (90 minutes).
Aileen Bennett

Aileen is a native of London, UK who has lived in Acadiana for 16 years. She is an illustrator, designer, author and writer with clients across the globe. Her recent artworks include Illustrations of Acadiana to decorate the Lafayette Hospitality Suite “Paint the Town” for the Washington Mardi Gras, a gallery exhibition called Everything is a Notebook, and a soon to be published children’s book with a local author. Aileen most recent exhibition was 2 years ago at the Smith and Lens gallery in Mississippi and she has been producing some new work in secret about the stories that make us who we are. Aileen has designed for brands across the country, and locally including Lafayette General, HomeBank, and many start-ups. She has authored two books and is currently working on a third about creativity. Aileen also writes a local newspaper column and hosts a weekly radio show about Business.
